FREDERICIA The Canvas Chair The Canvas Chair exemplifies Børge Mogensen’s talent for functionally-driven designs with a focus on simple forms that capture the essence of an idea. With nothing to add or subtract. Drawing on his preference for natural materials, Mogensen used flat canvas as the seat and back suspended between round pieces of wood, together with his trademark use of horizontal and vertical lines for the frame. The result is contrast and a remarkable sense of balance.

FREDERICIA The Hunting Chair The Hunting Chair is one of Mogensen’s most eye-catching designs. Seen from the side, what’s most notable about the chair is the sharp diagonal slope from the edge of the front seat measuring only 30 cm above the floor. The overall look and logical construction were inspired by Spain’s medieval Andalusian furniture, something that Mogensen would return to time and time again, as seen in his subsequent development of The Spanish Chair.
