Founded in 1945, Oluce is the oldest Italian design company in the illumination sector still in operation today. The design qualities of the lamps make them icons that communicate across the generations to become an integral part of the homes they furnish.
Alongside the catalogue products is the Oluce experience in lighting technology and Made in Italy attentiveness, which in turn have given life to the Bespoke Tailoring, the special department dedicated to contract design.
OLUCE Coupe Floor Lamp - The Coupé Floor lamp is made of metal lacquered base and structure, chromium-plated stem and adjustable reflector in lacquered aluminium. The simple, ingenious mechanism that connects the stem to the head makes it possible to direct the beam in several directions, by moving the dome up, down and sideways. In 1968, Coupé won the ”International Design Award” of the American Institute of Interior Designers in Chicago. It is part of the permanent collection at both the MoMA in New York and the ”Neue Sammlung” Museum in Munich.
OLUCE Coupe Table Lamp - The Coupé series, designed by Joe Colombo, was initially conceived as a variation of the Spider family, created by the same designer, of which it has kept its base and stem. The simple, ingenious mechanism that connects the stem to the head makes it possible to direct the beam in several directions, by moving the dome up, down and sideways.
OLUCE Canopy Pendant - Canopy owes both its shape and its name to the ceiling rose, one of the simplest and often neglected elements of lighting technology, used to conceal the wires coming out of the ceiling. Inside the dome, a particular source of light has been inserted, the circline bulb, capable of diffusing a soft, sinuous light into the surrounding environment.
OLUCE Atollo Opal Table Lamp - Designed in 1977 by Vico Magistretti, over the years, Atollo has become the archetype of the table lamp, winning the Compasso d’Oro in 1979 and completely revolutionising the way we imagine the classic bedside lamp. The geometric shapes that compose it – cylinder, cone and hemisphere – have resulted in a product that is decorative and essential at the same time, disconnected from the historical period and the fashions of the moment, and one that has now fully become one of the icons of Italian design
OLUCE Alba Pendant Two Arms - The concept of Alba starts with a very simple element: the designer’s imagination was inspired by a drop of water. The Alba pendant has a cable that supports a metal structure with a satin brass finish, with two offset arms, under which light shines from the opaline drops.
OLUCE Alba Pendant One Arm - The concept of Alba starts with a very simple element: the designer’s imagination was inspired by a drop of water – which she puts to use in different ways, depending on the model. References to the world of nature, with soft shapes contrasted with square lines, together with the use of a satin brass finish, combine to create Alba, a pendant lamp with a strong visual impact.
